For years, Pamela Brown's classes brought relief to people with back pain. This includes those who have had long term treatment, injuries and even surgery. Her book, "Your Back, Yoga and You" has become a best seller. Many people have found that her book and audio tape alone are sufficient to manage a troubling condition. She offers one-to-one assessment sessions and provides a treatment plan for home use. Pamela worked closely with a physiotherapist to design the program. It is also recommended by osteopaths, massage therapists and podiatrists.
Pamela now teaches other IYTA (International Yoga Teachers Association) teachers her systematic, holistic method to understand and treat back pain. They are offered as a group course. Each class will focus on a particular part of the body, with assessment tests and stretches for that area. The classes are restricted in size so that each person receives individual attention and will receive a personal programmed to follow at home. The classes are presented within the traditional yoga framework including relaxation and breath awareness.
Over the year the course covers lifestyle, diet, use of breath to support movement and to ease pain, and anatomy and physiology from feet to head. These classes are suitable for those who wish to understand anatomy and physiology of the body, and of yoga practices, as well as those with muscular pain.
The course runs with four different terms over the year. The topics include lifestyle, diet, use of the breath to support movement and to ease pain, and anatomy and physiology from feet to head. These classes are suitable for those who wish to understand the anatomy and physiology of the body, and of yoga practices, as well as those with muscular pain.
It is taught by Avinashananda Saraswati, who is qualified as a yoga teacher, remedial massage therapist and registered nurse.
